Senior Fellow, Global Governance
A doctorate in international relations from the Department of War Studies at King's College London underpins Priya Raghunathan's work on how the design of regional organisations shapes whether states honour their commitments. Before joining the Institute in 2021 she spent six years with an intergovernmental research consortium in Geneva, tracking compliance across more than forty multilateral agreements and advising SAARC and ASEAN dialogue forums on dispute-resolution mechanisms.
Her current project compares enforcement across regional governance bodies and asks why some compliance regimes strengthen over time while others erode. She is a lead author on the Institute's comparative work on regional governance, briefs diplomatic missions on comparative security frameworks, and comments on the record for policy and press audiences.
